I used that quote in the past to describe someone I cared for deeply. I don't miss that friendship or that time in my life at all. It was a bad mix of hurt feelings, deep sadness and grief and horrible news all together. Like a song that was a hit in a time that was hard and you can't hear it anymore, even if the song is actually good, it is not good for you. I only wish her to know, I never did or said anything to harm her and I never will.
